LED Lighting
This section is dedicated to LED lighting
So, what are the main advantages of LEDs when compared to some other types of illuminating devices?
First of all let’s see what we are dealing with. So, what are LED lamps about?
LED lighting uses light-emitting diodes as a source of light. This is one of the most advanced and fast developing types of artificial lighting.
Advantages of LED lamps are evident:
- Efficient energy use (a LED lamp with the same luminosity as a 400 watt filament lamp consumes only about 160 watt, thus being 3 times more energy efficient )
- Longer lifespan (up to 30 times longer when compared to filament lamps)
- Safe use (low voltage devices!)
- There is no heat transfer to water - because LED lamps do not emit infrared waves
- Environmental friendliness (absence of mercury vapor in contrast to luminescent lamps; low energy consumption)
- Absence of ultraviolet emission
- High durability and reliability.
